Isolation has seen me picking up my phone to order take away more than ever before!

As a pretty social person, I’m used to catching up with my friends for drinks or meals at least once a fortnight, but with COVID-19 keeping us inside for everyone’s safety I was having some serious good food withdrawals.

That was until the best restaurants in Sydney pivoted to delicious takeaway.

Icebergs Dining Room

Situated at the iconic Bondi Beach, Icebergs looks out over the ocean giving diners access to a stunning ocean panorama. However, it’s not just their views that are amazing, their food and drinks are too.

Icebergs has shifted to takeaway during COVID-19 and one of their best initiatives is certainly their Iceberg X Drinks Pouch. Just as it sounds, Iceberg x Drinks Pouch are prebatched house cocktails neatly locked in sealed pouches. Pre-corona you might have turned your nose up at premixed cocktails, but Icebergs are doing their drinks so well you even get the ice and garnish delivered to you, cute!

If you need a cocktail night, Icebergs is the place to hit up. And by hit up I mean call and order without leaving your home!

Bella Brutta

The best pizza in Sydney is coming to your home.

Only a young restaurant, opening in just 2018, before corona you’d need to book well in advance to secure your seat but with restrictions in place and delivery now available you can get your slice no matter how last-minute your craving is!

They’ve added not just their delicious pizzas and antipasto, but also their awesome wine selection and Italian soft drinks. Additionally, Bella Brutta is working to support the broader hospitality industry during this time. You can choose to add a donation to your order and help hospitality workers struggling through the Corona period.

Lankan Filling Station

Lankan Filling Station is some of the best Sri Lankan food you’ll find in Sydney. Their pivot to take away is unique and they’re encouraging you to not only order a delicious meal, but try your hand at making Sri Lankan food at home!

Browse “The Shop” and purchase key Sri Lankan ingredients as well as premade meals ready to heat as you want or need. Now is also a great time to try new items from the Lankan Filling Station menu. They’re usual speciality, hoppers, aren’t great for travelling so they’re off the menu for the time being. Instead, it’s time to dip into a delicious curry with pol roti or pappadums.

We recommend ordering the home banquet, it takes out the pressure of choice and you’ll get more bang for your buck!

Restaurants around the world are adapting and changing to keep us eating great foods throughout isolation. Without them we’d be unable to enjoy the date nights, isolation birthdays and cocktail evenings like we have. What are your favourite restaurants, and are they delivering? We can’t wait to get out and about in Sydney once again, enjoying the hard work of our fantastic hospitality industry!
